In India, At Lucknow’s Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport (CCSI), customs officers discovered about four kilograms of gold worth ₹2.55 crore ($306, 332) from two passengers who landed there on Sunday morning.
A senior customs official shared that two different cases were reported by officers at CCSI Airport Lucknow within the Lucknow Customs (P) Commissionerate in the early morning._
- In the first situation, they found 3.497 kilograms of gold hidden in a coffee machine during scanning. The machine seemed unusually heavy and damaged, so they cut it open and found two gold bars inside. This gold came from Dubai on the IX 194 flight.
- In another case, 554 grams of gold was found in a passenger’s rectum based on inputs and suspicion during a routine search. The passenger had arrived from Sharjah via Flight no 6E1424.
More investigations are happening.
