Lucy Wild, a part-time teacher and content creator, suffered ear pain, felt something weird in her ear—like scratchy and crackling stuff. She figured it was just earwax messing around, but it didn’t stop bugging her all day.
Lucy decided to investigate using a Smartbud, this cool electronic ear cleaner with a camera. Surprise, surprise! She found a spider in her ear, according to the New York Post. Yep, you heard it right.
Lucy, who’s 29 and lives in Cheshire with her three kids, got pretty freaked out. She called the UK emergency number and tried warm olive oil to get the spider out. It worked, but her ear was bleeding, and she couldn’t hear so well.
She went to the doc, got a week’s worth of antibiotics, and thought it was all over. But guess what? The ear pain came back. So, she checked with the Smartbud again and found a big black mass in her ear.
Panicking, Lucy rushed to the hospital’s Ear, Nose, and Throat department. The docs there had a shocking diagnosis: a spider’s nest in her ear. Crazy, right? Lucy couldn’t believe it either.
She asked the obvious question: How on earth does a spider sneak into your ear without you knowing? Even though the docs sorted her ear out, Lucy still feels messed up from the whole thing. She says the pain during the spider removal was worse than giving birth.
“It was like a scene from Stranger Things, going into the upside down. I have no clue what that spider left in my ear, something black maybe. Spiders sometimes carry babies on their legs and back. I was seriously confused about how it got in there. Scary to think there might be another one,” Lucy shared with SWNS.
