A big American Airlines plane had a tough time landing at London’s Heathrow Airport because of strong winds from Storm Gerrit on Wednesday. The Boeing 777 struggled against the gusts, making its wing tilt towards the ground on the runway. A video from BigJetTV, shared on X, showed the intense landing with the caption “American 777 insane landing at London Heathrow.”
In the video, the large plane shook above the runway as the strong winds from Storm Gerrit made landing tricky. The person recording the video said things like “Ooh! Ooh! Ooh! Stop it!” expressing concern. After more than 10 seconds of a shaky landing, the pilot successfully got control of the flight.
Reports say many flights got canceled at Heathrow Airport because of bad weather. The storm also affected train services as it brought strong winds and heavy rain to different parts of the UK. The UK Met Office warned about strong winds, reaching possibly 70 mph on exposed coastlines and around 50-60 mph in the warned areas across southern coastal areas of England.
