In a legal case happening in the United States, a woman named Kathleen Wilson is suing her dentist, Dr. Kevin Molldrem from Molldrem Family Dentistry. The New York Post reported on the lawsuit, claiming that during one visit in July 2020, Wilson went through eight dental crowns, four root canals, and 20 fillings that didn’t go well. She says this left her looking different and in a lot of pain.
After this, she went to other dentists to fix the problems. Now, she’s asking for at least $50,000 for what she went through. To check if everything was done right, Dr. Avrum Goldstein from Florida looked at the medical papers from Dr. Molldrem and others. Dr. Goldstein agreed that Wilson had a lot of tooth decay, but he also found that Dr. Molldrem didn’t follow the proper care rules.
Dr. Goldstein wrote a detailed report, saying that Wilson’s teeth needed slow, careful treatment, and trying to fix everything in one go was not just wrong but also impossible. He called the idea of working on 28 teeth in five and a half hours “unbelievable.”
He also said that Dr. Molldrem didn’t think about Wilson getting sick easily or losing her teeth. Dr. Molldrem was accused of giving too much anesthesia during the procedure—960 milligrams when only 490 milligrams are allowed for a long session.
The lawsuit says that Wilson finally got the right treatment for her teeth in 2022 from the University of Minnesota Dental School to make her mouth stable again. This legal fight is not just about the dental procedures gone wrong; it’s also raising questions about how dentists should take care of their patients.
